Monster, Ghoul, Freak…Blackdots is proud to announce their new project from the most famous artist of the Japanese Low-brow art scene 「Rockin’JellyBean」! Here come portraits of a bunch of weird neighbours imagined by Jelly Bean and scuplted by RESTORE best artists.

モンスター、怪物、怪人、化け物…。異形の隣人達の肖像画を、日本のロウブロウアートシーンを代表する二人のアーティスト「Rockin’JellyBean氏」と「Sketch氏」が、ユーモラスに、そして哀愁、愛情を込めて描き、人々を魅了したイベント『隣のモンスター展』。そこで生み出されたJelly Bean氏の魅力溢れるモンスター達を名立たる原型師を起用しSofubi用にRe:design、具現化していくシリーズ。

Rockin’Jelly Bean

Rockin’ Jelly Bean has become world known for his lachivious and wildly imaginative depictions of beautifully nasty and cutely obscene women. Despite his level of renown and infamy, he is known to sport a Lucha doll mask at all times and is said to never appear in public without it. Stylistically influenced by such artists as Ed Roth,Robert Williams and Robert Crumb, he started his career in Tokyo in 1990, following in their low-brow footsteps. In the late 90s, he relocated to LA where he started up his original brand EROSTY POP. In 2004,he established EROSTIKA as his official shop and continues to create cool n rockin’ art work.

音楽と密接な関係にある彼のアート・スタイルは日本のインディー GARAGE PUNKシーンにおけるフライヤー、ジャケットなどの製作をキャリアの原点としている。さらに活動は国内外、インディー、メジャーの枠を越えて拡張し、現代美術の世界まで及ぶ。1996年の渡米をきっかけにLAW BLOW ARTシーンでの活躍の場を見いだした彼はCOOP、KOZIKなどと共にグループ展に参加。それと同時にブランド「EROSTY POP!」を設立。7年間のL.A.での活動ののち、2005年からは活動の拠点を大阪に移し、近年は原宿にショップ「EROSTIKA」をプロデュースする側ら様々な分野でCOOLなアートワークを提供し続けている。
